Casting Call

My Turn Performing Arts Collective in Alma MI is auditioning forworld premiere of “The Lost Uterus” by Michelle Lucchesi.

Looking to fill 5-9 roles, female ages 20 – 60. Including one transgender.

Synopsis.

This exploration of womanhood includes several monologues from a wide variety of women examining their relationship with their uterus. These are framed in a story of a mother and daughter navigating attempts at emotional intimacy among fears and guilt of past actions. It is a cutting portrayal of private experiences often left unspoken.

This script has been fully workshopped through Michigan Writer’s Playwright Project, where leaders called it “an important piece.”

Cast

Maggie 42, female, lead, in every scene, some as younger version of herself.

Marie 21, female, Maggie’s daughter, in two scenes, includes a short monologue

All remaining characters are in one scene with a short monologue. Double casting is possible.

Mom, female 50-60, Maggie’s mom, when Maggie was 21

Doctor, female, late 30s

Young Lady, female, late 20s – early 30s

Friend, Maggie’s friend, 40s
